IT’S MOVEMBER

I don’t enjoy shaving, never have.  And what guy really does?  I’m mean, is there a guy out there that thinks to himself when the alarm goes off “Woo!  Time to shave the face with that dull razor that I’ve been meaning to replace!”  My 5 o’clock shadow starts telling time in 24hr mode, simply because of the fact that 1700 hours seems much later, so 2 or 3 days of stubble isn’t so bad.

But I found a loop-hole.  One that has a great cause to it to boot!  I had heard about it last year (it was just after I moved out from under that rock – and if you caught that joke, you’re smarter than the average Yogi!) and thought that this is my time.  The time to grow, shape and nurture my facial hair in support of guys everywhere and the people that love them!

Some of you may have received a little ol’ email from me that goes a little something like this:

It’s Movember, the month formerly known as November, which is dedicated to growing moustaches and raising awareness and funds for men’s health. I have joined the movement and will be donating my upper lip to the cause for 30 days. My Mo will spark conversations, and no doubt generate some laughs; all in the name of raising vital awareness and funds for prostate cancer.

Why am I so passionate about men’s health?
*On average men live 4-5 years less than women
*1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
* 25,500 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year in Canada
