Man, I really want the summer season to hurry up and get here. I started out sick at the beginning of March, started getting better, then hopped on a plane to Vegas for WPPI, lost my voice on the way there (now everyone I met thinks my voice naturally sounds bad all the time), came home, got better, and now I’m closing out the month with another head cold. That being said, quiet time at home is A O K with me.
And speaking of quiet time, Earth Hour happened here in Milton, and across the globe, yesterday from 8:30pm until 9:30pm, and being the energy conservative type of guy that I am (well, I at least turn off the light when leaving the room, it’s habit now after all these years) Patti and I shut off everything that we didn’t need to have on. But we still needed a bit of light to enjoy the quiet time together, so after Patti lit a candle, I lit up a nice warm roaring fire in the fireplace. Patti poured herself a glass of red wine, and then she had a great idea, let’s take some photos of the fire and wine to hang in the kitchen! She’s so smart that one, because we’ve been looking for a long time in different stores for the perfect prints to go with the colours on the walls, and we had a close idea of what we wanted but could never find it. And now, we can hang something in the house that I can say “Yeah, that’s one of my shots, no biggy”. So modest.
It was nice to just sit, relax, keep warm, enjoy each others company next to the fire, we’re both feeling under the weather, so it just felt great. The only bad thing … Patti’s wine got too hot to drink! Oh darn, fresh glass!
Here’s one of the shots that will some day be on display in the Kitchen Gallery:
